AVONDALE, Ariz. - A broken left front spring caused the No. 17 Roush Racing Ford driven by Matt Kenseth to be too high in the right rear during postrace inspection following the Arizona.Travel 200 Busch Series race Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway.

Kenseth finished second in the race. His team faces possible points and monetary penalties from being outside the NASCAR specifications. NASCAR likely will announce any penalties Tuesday.

"It had a broken spring, a broken coil," team owner Jack Roush said Sunday morning. "It's not clear at all what, if any, punitive action NASCAR will take. You're going to break parts sometime.

"That is a part that we ran in that car at this race track in the winter. We haven't broken a Draco spring all year. Parts break. We broke a part."
