Furniture Row Racing officials say the team is working on the final details of a three-year contract with driver Joe Nemechek.
Nemechek took over the team's No. 78 Nextel Cup Series entry at California Speedway in September. With the team outside the top 35 in owners points, Nemechek qualified his way into six consecutive races before failing to make the field for the last two.
The organization is also seeking sponsorship to start a second team to run at least a limited schedule in the series.
