FORT WORTH, Texas - Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Busch left open the possibility that he could run both the full Nextel Cup and Busch Series schedules in 2007, something he has said repeatedly he doesn't want to do.

Busch said that recently he and car owner Rick Hendrick have begun discussions about the driver's Busch Series plans for next season. And while Busch doesn't want to run the full Busch schedule, he may have no choice.

"There have been discussions on whether to go full time again or whether to go 20 races or 25 races," Busch said Friday at Texas Motor Speedway.

Sponsorship may be an issue as to whether Hendrick runs two cars or if one driver runs the full schedule. Casey Mears is in the mix for a Busch ride next year as he joins Hendrick Motorsports. Whether Jimmie Johnson continues to run select Busch races is unknown, too.

Asked Friday whether he had a preference, Busch was clear he did.

"All the flying back and forth was OK," Busch said, "but adding 38 appearances throughout the year along with the racing doesn't help."
