Tim Sauter has left the McGill Motorsports Busch Series team for the final three races of the season.
Veterans sports-car driver and occasional NASCAR competitor Max Papis is slated to drive the car in this weekend's O'Reilly Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway, while Brent Sherman will drive it at Phoenix and Homestead, the team's Web site said.
Sauter has driven in 28 races this season in the No. 36 and stands 26th in the Busch point standings, with a best of 19th at Martinsville and Daytona in February.
McGill has also used Papis, Stanton Barrett and Jeff Green in the No. 36 Chevrolet this season.
Sponsor Lester Buildings said it planned to support Sauter next season, though with another team.
"We don't have anything signed for next year yet, but we should have some things finalized shortly," Lester Building Vice President Larry Lembrich said.
Sauter finished 31st at Memphis in his final race with McGill.
- Mentioned Drivers:
- Stanton Barrett Jr.
