CONCORD, N.C. - David Gilliland will run 25 races for Team Rensi Motorsports in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007, Team Rensi President Ronnie Russell confirmed Friday at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Gilliland drives in the Nextel Cup Series for Robert Yates Racing, which is a partner with Rensi. Gilliland will run the Nextel Cup companion races in the No. 25 Ford as a teammate to Bobby Hamilton Jr.

Gilliland thrust himself into the NASCAR spotlight earlier this season with an upset victory for the now-defunct Clay Andrews Racing team at Kentucky Speedway in June.

A sponsor should be announced before the end of the season.

Rensi engineer Richard Johns, who has driven Late Models and ARCA races, will drive the remaining 10 races in the No. 25.

Ashton Lewis jr. currently drives the No. 25 with sponsorship from the U.S. Marine Corps, but both are leaving the team at the end of the season.

Russell said the team would like to run a third car, the No. 57, for Jason Keller next year should sponsorship materialize.
