NASCAR: No issues with RCR tire
Tuesday, July 25, 2006
NASCAR examined the left front tire of the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing car of Clint Bowyer following the Busch Series race at Martinsville on Saturday, but officials found no problems.
NASCAR has taken a second look at the tire and has no issues with it, NASCAR spokesperson Tracey Judd confirmed Monday.
NASCAR has been on the lookout for teams intentionally putting tiny leaks in tires to keep them from building up as much air pressure during long green-flag runs. There was a leak in the valve stem of the RCR tire, but NASCAR found that it was not from an intentional cause.
