DOVER, Del. - Wisconsin native Scott Wimmer will get to race in his home state again as he will compete in the AT&T 250 Busch Series event June 24 at the Milwaukee Mile.

Wimmer will drive the No. 66 Brewco Motorsports car in that event.

"Originally I wasn't planning on running it," Wimmer said Saturday afternoon. "With some of the changes they did [in the schedule], I'm going to end up going back. That's really exciting for me.

"It's kind of my home track, but I haven't run there that much. All my family and friends and fans will be there, and it will be exciting to go back there."

Wimmer might pull double-duty that weekend if he also competes in his regular Nextel Cup ride, the No. 4 Morgan-McClure Motorsports Chevrolet at Infineon Raceway. He said he would like to run the road course but knows that with the team out of the top 35, team owner Larry McClure might opt for a road-course ace for that event.

"I'm going to talk to Larry McClure about it and see what he wants to do," said Wimmer, who is going to road-racing school later this month. "I think I can get the car in the race. Maybe we'll have someone standing by in case practice doesn't go the way we've planned."
