CONCORD, N.C. -- Greg Conner has replaced Ron Otto as crew chief for BAM Racing's No. 49 Dodge in the Nextel Cup Series.
Conner came to BAM with driver Kevin Lepage earlier this month after both started the year with the No. 61 Peak Performance team, which was sold to Front Row Motorsports. Lepage replaced driver Brent Sherman.
"When I came to this deal, that was part of the deal to bring him along just to have the transition of what the driver feels and if he says this, what it means and how to adjust the car," Lepage said. "Now that he has taken over the full-time deal, I think it's going to make this program stronger, quicker."
Lepage, who joined the team for the Richmond race, said he expects to sign a contract soon that will keep him at BAM through the 2007 season.
"We're still talking. This looks like where I'm going to be through this year and next year," he said. "Do I have contract signed, sealed and delivered? No. But we've been talking and everything is leaning toward it is going to happen. Right now, all I want to do is run good and get this race team back up where it needs to be."
- Mentioned Drivers:
- Kevin Lepage
