Overnight TV ratings down

Fox's broadcast of Sunday's Auto Club 500 Nextel Cup race from California Speedway earned an overnight Nielsen Media Research rating of 6.2 and a 12 share, Street and Smith's SportsBusiness Daily reports.
The overnight rating was 12.7 percent lower than the 7.1 Fox earned last year, when the race went on to record final figures of 7.9/16. The Daily notes that this year's race aired opposite NBC's final-day coverage of the Winter Olympics.
