N.C. college announces motorsports degree program

Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., has disclosed plans for what it says will be the first four-year degree with emphasis on the business of motorsports management.
Students in the program will work toward a bachelor's degree in business management with a concentration on motorsports management. The Charlotte-area college will begin offering the program during the next fall semester.
The courses will focus on four areas, including a traditional liberal arts core combined with courses in sports marketing, racing management, team management and three required internships in various areas of the industry. NASCAR specialists will be involved in teaching the coursework.
