CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY announced that Sony Electronics Inc. will be the title sponsor of its 500-mile Nextel Cup event Sept. 4. The multi-year sponsorship agreement for the Labor Day weekend event - the Sony HD 500 - is being finalized.

Geoffrey Bodine's Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project will organize a bobsled race with 10 Nextel Cup and Busch Series drivers Jan. 5-9 in Lake Placid, N.Y. The event is designed to raise money for the Bobsled project for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

HOME DEPOT has signed a four-year deal with International Speed-way Corp., making it the official home improvement retailer of the 11 motorsports facilities owned or operated by ISC.

FITZBRADSHAW RACING has been certified as a minority-owned business by the Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council. The designation allows the team to be eligible for companies' diversity designated marketing funds.
