DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Dale Earnhardt Jr. won in his first race with Hendrick Motorsports. Dale Jarrett, Kenny Wallace and John Andretti raced their way into the Daytona 500. Todd Bodine won for the first time in 34 attempts at Daytona International Speedway.

This has been a rather stirring week for fans of both traditional NASCAR and its new generation of stars. It’s been a fun time to be in sunny Florida and a somewhat emotional experience for several of the sports veterans.
And the Daytona 500 hasn’t even started yet.
