Can McMurray work more Daytona magic?
Jul

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jamie McMurray has probably had this date circled on his calendar for months.
The defending winner of this summer race at Daytona International Speedway, McMurray and crew chief Larry Carter have endured more than their share of setbacks in recent months. Most notably, they were running with the leaders and mounting a challenge when McMurray's car was tagged and spun at Infineon Raceway. But now, he hopes all that becomes a part of the past.
McMurray is back at Daytona this weekend, site of his last triumph and the place where he snapped a 166-race winless streak. He edged Kyle Busch at the line in a tight finish that has netted him a nomination for an ESPY award.
Now, the Roush Fenway Racing driver and crew chief are looking to work their magic again. McMurray certainly needs a strong finish to follow a strong run, if only to show that team that bad luck doesn't always befall them late in a race.
This weekend, he has his best shot to get just that.
