Watching Joey run

Sep 12
LOUDON, N.H. – What should we expect from 18-year-old Joey Logano as he shoots to make his Sprint Cup debut this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway?

Not a lot, actually. A top-25 finish would be more than acceptable. A top-15 would be remarkable. Top 10? Start stamping more Logano T-shirts.

Logano, who seems to have carried the Next Big Thing billing for most of his teen years, rides under the radar this weekend as most of the
attention will be focused on the opening of the Chase For The Sprint Cup, the follow-up to the Ron Hornaday drug saga and whatever tantrum Tony Stewart chooses to throw.

For the moment, Logano is still a smiling, happy-go-lucky kid who’s simply happy to be here. The heavy pressure will come soon enough.

Maybe he should just enjoy himself for a while, try to finish every lap and learn everything he can. If he’s the Next Big Thing, we can discover that later.

Joey's dad is kinda like the American Express card commercial. Joey never leaves home without him. Oh, qualifing got rained out again!

Sure, qualifying got rained out BUT Logano WILL race since he's in the #96 this time! So, all of you pessimistic naysayers who fear anything beyond the status quo, please DON'T WORRY!!!!!.... you're still going to get your shot to root against this young guy! You'll still get a chance to hope and pray that he makes a mistake so you can feel secure & safe in your NEGATIVITY! And of course......you'll always have a chance in a few years to LIE your a@## off and say you were on the Logano bandwagon from the begining!!! Can't wait.....

Dont worry dirt. I will never say I was on his bandwagon. There is nothing speial about this kid. Yes he is good in nationwide and busch east. Well now he can play with the big boys lets see what he is really made of. Not much in my eyes Gibbs must be getting really hard up when he needs an 18 year old to drive for him. Oh yeah I forgot about his side kick pee wee herman Busch. Worm you are a real moron who makes no sense most of the time.

I am not impressed, he drove like he was driving the 96. he was, but he was'nt, the 96 is a re-numbered 20. So if he is so good why did'nt he preform like he was in the 20. I'm sorry folks, this kid is no Jeff Gordon.

Yeah, I watched Joey run, right out of the pits with the JACK!!!!!!!!!!! Kid needs more seat time, like a year, in the Nationwide series. Typical Rookie Hype and he proved in his first race he was not ready for the big time.
