Older crowd taking on Montreal race

Aug 1
MONTREAL – Perhaps the Nationwide Series race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve should be sponsored by Geritol. Or AARP.

A glance down the list of drivers for this weekend’s race has some interesting numbers. High numbers. As in age.

There are two drivers older than 60, three more 50 or older and seven more 45 and up:

Morgan Shepherd, 66; Stan Barrett, 65; Trevor Boys, 50; Ron Hornaday Jr., 50; Dale Quarterly, 50; Derrike Cope, 49; Scott Gaylord, 49; Mike Wallace, 49; Scott Pruett, 48, Ron Fellows, 48; Boris Said, 45; Don Thomson, 45.

And this is supposed to be a developmental series?
