Cheaters never win

Feb 16
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – I honestly don’t know what to think about all the Nationwide Series violations this week at Daytona International Speedway.

Part of me thinks, “Well, NASCAR is doing a good job policing this series.”

Another part thinks, “Good grief, what a bunch of cheaters.”

Another part thinks, “Maybe there’s too much gray area in the rule book.”

Another part thinks, “These teams have to push the envelope.”

Last year, it was the Cup series that had a cloud of controversy around it because so many teams were caught cheating at Daytona. This year, it’s the Nationwide Series.

There won’t be a whole lot of talk about all the violations this week because, frankly, not many in the media care about the Nationwide Series. But it’s obvious some teams tried a little too hard this week, and NASCAR had to crack down.

Let’s hope it doesn’t continue. Cheating of any kind at any level of sport is never good.

The title of your article is untrue. Just ask Jimmy Jonhson. He won the championship. Dan Carr
