You can't top Talladega

Talladega Superspeedway has no equal as far as I’m concerned. In terms of adrenaline, excitement and a true NASCAR experience, it is the ultimate.
What makes it so great? The people, party atmosphere and ever-present promise of potential mayhem on the track.
Stand down close to the fence along the frontstretch the first time those cars get up to speed and blow by you in twin packs, and then tell me what you think.
There’s Earnhardt fans everywhere, of course, but the man’s legend seemingly lives largest here.
This ain’t cookie-cutter, corporate or cluttered – unless you’re in the campground, where it can get crowded.
This is ‘Dega. It’s the dirty South, where all manner of pretense – and sometimes manners themselves – take a backseat to that which is rough, raw and real.
Drivers may dread the Big One, but the threat of it creates an anticipation and restlessness that keeps the grandstands buzzing. Of course, many in the estimated crowd of 160,000 already have a pretty good head start on that. Things tend to get wild – on and off the track – at Talladega.
Daytona has 50 years of tradition and the 500. Bristol’s night race is a spectacle to behold. But overall, Talladega trumps them both.
