Kyle Busch has Chase momentum
Sep
12
The lineup for NASCAR's Chase For The Sprint Cup is set. The slate has been wiped clean. It's a brand new beginning.
It’s anyone’s Chase, some say. But is it really?
There’s a lot to be said for momentum and luck on your side. Kyle Busch has had one of those years where it has all been clicking together. Many fans believe that he’ll be adding another victory or two during the Chase to his list of eight already from this season.
Numerically, it’s a new start. But mentally and mechanically, it’s a continuation of the season, which gives Kyle an edge. True, anything can
still happen.
Carl Edwards, starting out second in the Chase, has had a phenomenal year as well. He’s got momentum of his own - not to mention some really cool backflips.
That rivalry between Busch and Edwards we saw born this season will no doubt make for a fiery competition.
And that is my hope for the 2008 Chase: This year I want an exciting battle. And come the final race at Homestead, I’m crossing my fingers that our NASCAR Nation gets to crown a champion from one of the contenders who has yet to earn the title.

Sep 12, 2008 at 4:13 PMI HONESTLY hope Kyle Busch blows the rest of the field AWAY and wins by an obscenely LARGE points margin!! In fact, I hope he clinches the championship before Homestead making this the MOST BORING Chase in HISTORY!!! WHY you might ask????? Well......in my mind, this would put it in the face of so many of his haters who, just like the author of this blog YEARN for exciting racing, but look down their nose on Kyle and IGNORE THE FACT that he has pretty much been the ONLY source of anything EXCITING this ENTIRE season!!! Give 'em HELL #18!!!!!! Yeeeeeeeeeooooooooowwwwwwwww!

Sep 14, 2008 at 11:23 AMI have had this conversation at racemyspace dot com. I hope that Kyle continues to win and wins the championship. I am a Harvick fan and would love to see him win it, but if someone else wins, let it be Kyle. Him winning the title will show Hendrick and Roush that they missed out on a pure talent. If he is not the second coming of Tim Richmond, I don't know who is.

Sep 15, 2008 at 6:22 AMI'm not a KB fan. But I believe he can drive anything, except a broke race car. With his age and lack of some maturity, I can see why he would not want to talk to anyone, especially the media, after the race. With his attitude, I've sure he would have said something for which he would have to apologize later. Though he dropped back to 8th, don't count him out. I'm not a fan, but he's hard to stop.

Sep 16, 2008 at 8:22 PMWell Carolyn, you might just have to settle for the excitement of a 3 times in a row champion. But we can still hope for that 1st time winner. ;- ) The 8th spot right now is not as bad as it sounds. There are only 2 points separating 6 place and 8th place. A win by kb, and we know it will come, and he his right back in it. Don't forget JJ was in the same situation before and he went on to win the championship. I know better than to count the shrub out at this point. But again, I can still hope.

Sep 17, 2008 at 5:29 AMDo we really want KB to be the representative for NASCAR next year IF he wins the title??? Do we want a champion that will face adversity and grant interviews no matter how poorly his race went?? Then KB IS NOT THE MAN!!! He is the ONLY driver that runs to the hauler/motor home/airplane when the race does not go his way. But when he does win, he is in the media/fans faces, bragging, insulting/bowing/counting on his fingers like a child. We want a MAN to lead this sport, a be a champion every one would be proud of and look up to AND be accessible no matter what. He needs more maturing and perhaps Gibbs ought to get him some classes like they did Tony.

Sep 28, 2008 at 3:12 PMLooks like it is going to be one of three drivers. Kyle is not one of them. It's a shame his equipment hasn't held up. Kyle can drive, I just wish mentally and emotionally he matched his driving skills. Reminds me so much of Stewart, everyone else's fault but his, EVERY...SINGLE...TIME.
