Night time the right time for Sprint Cup Chase races
Oct

CONCORD, N.C. – It’s time for some night racing in the Chase.
The race here at Lowe’s Motor Speedway is the only official night race of NASCAR’s Chase For The Sprint Cup, although the finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway typically ends under the lights.
Why aren’t there more Chase races at night?
Night events are cool. Running on a Saturday night also avoids a conflict with the NFL, which likely helps attract fans who might watch more football than racing on a Sunday. And night events give fans a full day to get home after the event.
But night races also can run so late (especially if there is a rain delay) that some fans can’t stay awake through the whole thing. And day races can be exciting, too, as people saw last week at Talladega or a few weeks ago at Dover.
The other thing about night races in the Chase is that in many of the areas, it can get cold at night. Then again, it can be cold in some of the areas that NASCAR races at in March – remember the snow at Bristol?
Speaking of Bristol, why isn’t it in the Chase? Wouldn’t it be awesome to kick off the Chase with the night race at Bristol?
Let’s add that race to the Chase. That would give us two night races. That would be enough in my book.

Shouldn't your editors make some kind of limit on how many times you guys are allowed to recycle the same title for an article over and over and over? If I were Kris Johnson I'd sneak into your cubicle and let the air out of the inflatable hemmoroid donut cushion in your office chair as payback for stealing his article titles.
