Don't worry about Johnson till after Martinsville

So is Jimmie Johnson’s “slump” that has gotten him off to a start where he is 13th in points something to be worried about?

We’ll find out this week.

Martinsville obviously is one of Johnson’s best tracks. He has four wins and eight top-fives in just 12 starts. He has led 871 laps there, including 505 laps in the last three races, all of which he has won.

If Johnson has a bad run at Martinsville, it’s time to start wondering whether there is something wrong with his Hendrick Motorsports
team.

Until the checkered flag waves at Martinsville, it just must be assumed Johnson and Chad Knaus are just teasing the rest of their Sprint Cup competitors with their slow start. Maybe they're just instituting their typical summer plan of testing a few things a little earlier this year.
