Don't expect Chevy to win at Bristol

Mar 14
BRISTOL, Tenn. – When is Chevrolet going to get its first win?

Will it be this week at Bristol?

Sorry, bowtie brigade fans, it won’t be this weekend. You’ll have to wait until Martinsville, when Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon once again will rule the paper-clip track.

The edge this weekend has to go to Carl Edwards or Matt Kenseth with the strength that Roush Fenway has shown in recent weeks. Kurt Busch could wind up in victory lane, as could his brother Kyle.

Chevrolet hasn’t had a bad season, just not a great one so far. Is there something wrong with the Chevrolet teams? Yeah, there is no more Joe Gibbs Racing.

Richard Childress Racing will get a win soon, along with the Hendrick boys. Dale Earnhardt Inc.? Well, Martin Truex Jr. always has to be considered a threat, and he has run good but not great yet this year.

Expect the Chevrolets to win Martinsville and then get on a roll from there. But don’t expect another 26-win season as a year ago. And as far as the sport goes, that’s not really a bad thing.

Right again, Bob. Chevy 1 2 3 loved that keen foresight!
