TALLADEGA, Ala. – Roush Fenway Racing’s Colin Braun won the pole Friday in a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series qualifying session where Austin Dillon’s time was disallowed for failing post-qualifying inspection.

The No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Dillon did not meet height requirements and was disqualified. Dillon failed to make the race because his team is running a partial schedule and therefore not eligible for a guaranteed starting spot.

Braun turned a lap of 179.608 mph to win the pole for Saturday’s Mountain Dew 250. He topped HT Motorsports’ Terry Cook, who went 178.188. Germain Racing’s Max Papis qualified third at 178.052.

GunBroker.com Racing’s Jason White was fourth, with Billy Ballew Motorsports’ Aric Almirola fifth.

Sixth through 10th were Todd Bodine (Germain), Matt Crafton (ThorSport Racing), Tayler Malsam (Randy Moss Motorsports), Stacy Compton (Wyler Racing) and Kyle Busch (Ballew).

Series point leader Ron Hornaday qualified 12th.

Mike and Chrissy Wallace will become the first father-daughter duo to race each other in the series. Mike qualified 33rd for Fast Track Racing, while Chrissy was 27th for SS-Green Light Racing.

Mike Harmon Racing’s Mike Harmon was the other driver to fail to qualify.

Very little has been said about RCR's truck failing post qualifing inspection..... Waltrip said on Speed that the front shocks may have been the problem... I wonder if RCR used Micky's gage to set the front shocks pressure....

I wonder if Austin Dillon knew any thing about this? If he didn't what a sad thing. I was hoping to see the #3 in the race.

Wow, Chrissy finished 12th or 13th and she was around 15th area all day. while Mike hung around 27th and finally the truck started coming apart atthe seams, I again am impressed with Chrissy, she made perfect stops only losing a few positions once for whatever.

she kept away from the trouble and no one messed with her with daddy out there...unlike Erin Crocker who got hit more times than a ping pong ball in the races she entered...
