HT Motorsports' David Starr fastest in opening Truck series practice at Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – HT Motorsports' David Starr led the opening NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice Friday at Martinsville Speedway.

Starr paced the field with a top lap of 94.486 mph. Wyler Racing's Stacy Compton followed with a top lap of 94.444. Kevin Harvick Inc.'s Kevin Harvick, Premier Racing's Timothy Peters and HT Motorsports' Terry Cook followed.

Red Horse's Johnny Benson, KHI's Ron Hornaday, Billy Ballew Motorsports' Kyle Busch, Randy Moss Motorsports' Mike Skinner and Xpress Motorsports' Brian Scott rounded out the top 10.

KHI's Ricky Carmichael spun in the session, but did not damage his truck. GunBroker.com Racing's Jason White also spun in the session and sustained severe rear-end damage, but the team is attempting to repair it.

The truck's practice again at 1:45 p.m. EDT in preparation for Saturday's Kroger 250. Qualifying for the race is scheduled for Saturday at 9:10 a.m with the race scheduled for 2 p.m.
