FORT WORTH, Texas – Billy Ballew Motorsports driver Kyle Busch led the first NASCAR Camping World Series practice Thursday at Texas Motor Speedway, with teammate Aric Almirola second.

Busch, in the No. 51 Toyota, turned a lap of 180.102 mph, more than a tenth of a second quicker than Almirola’s 179.093 mph. The pair finished first and second in last weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Chad McCumbee (SS-Green Light Racing) was third at 178.838. Colin Braun (Roush Fenway Racing) was fourth and Ron Hornaday Jr. (Kevin Harvick Inc.) was fifth.

Sixth through 10th were Todd Bodine (Germain Racing), Matt Crafton (ThorSport Racing), Mike Skinner (Randy Moss Motorsports), Johnny Sauter (ThorSport) and David Gilliland (ThorSport).

The No. 92 Chevrolet of John Jackson spun and hit the wall and will have to go to a backup.

Final Truck practice is slated for 3:15 p.m. EST, with qualifying for the WinStar World Casino 350 slated for 8 p.m. Thursday.

Good GOSH -I was afraid an actual TRUCK driver might be fastest - - Thankfully, there's a CUP driver to drop down TWO divisions to feed his ego and NASCAR's pockets to become a "HERO" - -

Busch is doing something he loves to do, RACE! Nobody seems to complain about Ken Schrader going all over the country racing his late models and everything under the sun. Kyle has the opportunity to drive something more fun then the cot, and he does it for free!

I'm really enjoying the truck races more all the time. I especially love it when someone bumps Kyle out of the way. I only wish Nascar would keep the divisions SEPERATE and keep Kyle in cup and nowhere else!!

Kyle is an excellent driver and no one has ever driven Billy Ballew's #51 like Kyle does. Too bad you guys don't realize he has a lot of talent and wins in all 3 categories, not just the screwed up CHASE MESS.
