Darlington Raceway will play host to a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Aug. 14, the track announced today.

The last time the series raced at Darlington was 2004.

“Our fans have asked us to bring back the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series because Darlington is a perfect fit for the tough racing the series offers,” Browning said. “We are excited to be able to bring back the trucks in 2010 and look forward to putting on a memorable show for all of our fans.”

The race replaces the June event scheduled for The Milwaukee Mile, which was dropped from the schedule because the track does not have a promoter.

The event – a 200-mile, 147-lap race tagged the Too Tough to Tame 200 – will have a 7:30 p.m. Eastern start.

“I think it will be awesome for the Truck series to go back to Darlington,” said Kevin Harvick Inc. driver Ron Hornaday. “I know that when the trucks were there Bobby Hamilton and Ted Musgrave put on a heck of a show for the fans.

“Traditionally, Darlington has been one of those places that have close finishes which the Truck series is known for.”
