Bobby Hamilton Racing-Virginia will cease operations at the end of the week, Lori Shuler Hamilton, chief operating officer for the NASCAR Truck series organization, confirmed Monday.

The team, started by the late Bobby Hamilton, moved from its base in Nashville, Tenn., to Martinsville, Va., after the 2007 season with partners Clay Campbell, Stacy Compton, Mac Bailey, Mark Melling and Joey Arrington joining the ownership group.

Details of what will happen with the trucks and the equipment are still to be determined, Hamilton said.

The team's sponsorship from Dodge ended after the 2008 season. The organization started the season with two trucks but cut back to one during the year. Dennis Setzer finished eighth in points and earned a win at Martinsville – the 20th win for the organization since its inception in 1999.

Its a sad thing to watch a team that has been on the track so long have to shut down. I watch all 3 series and think the trucks are by far the most exciting. Sure hope when this crazy world settles down we see Bobby back on the track. Good luck.

This is truly disheartening for me personally. I feared this would happen with Dodge pulling factory backing for the TS program, and now it has happened. Quite reminiscent of Ted (Musgrave) winning the CTS championship a couple of years ago with Jim Smith's Ultra Motorsports team, and then the team wasn't even at Daytona for the following year. That just blew my mind, and this was Mopar's last vestige (sp) of anything in trucks and now it's gone...very sad indeed.

This is really devastating to NASCAR, no matter what it seems like. The BHR team has always done well in trucks, and to see it have to cut back from two trucks to one this year, and now to see them completely shut down, is heartbreaking to any Truck Series fan. They were always competitive, and now they are gone.

Think of what would happen if the GM/Chrysler merger happens? Chrysler would disappear, and that is sad indeed. Why the stuffed shirts in Washington could bail out the jerks that made the recession happen in the first place for 300 Billion dollars in "gimme money", where all the detroit "big three" are asking for is 25 billion in "low interest loans" is a travesty of justice. How could they let the American car companies suffer so. I'm going to start putting my money under the mattress.

It is will be sad not to see Dennis Setzer in the BHR truck next year. Bobby Hamilton was my favorite driver I was devistated whem Bobby passed. I was glad when Lori was able to carry on.. IMO the goverment should have helped on the BAILOUT it has given ssoooo munch $$$$ to AIG twice and they have blown the away. My husband and I drive DODGES and our kids drive CHEVYS.. What has happen to us trying to buy AMERICAN,, I know that some import cars are made here in the USA.
