DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Aric Almirola, whose Sprint Cup hopes for 2010 are unclear after Phoenix Racing lost its sponsor, will drive for Billy Ballew Motorsports in the Truck Series this season.
Almirola drove in 16 races last year for Ballew and will take over the No. 51 truck, which was primarily driven by Kyle Busch in past seasons but Busch has started his own truck team.
Graceway Pharmaceuticals will be the sponsor for Almirola, who has seven top-five finishes in 49 career starts in the series.
“We’re looking forward to starting the season off where we left off in 2009,” Almirola said. “Our trucks are really strong and we are looking to visit victory lane as much as we can. [Crew chief] Richie [Wauters] and all the guys have been working long hours to make sure our trucks are as good as they can be.”
Almirola’s teammate for Daytona will be former Truck champion Ted Musgrave, who will drive the No. 15 truck tabbed the “Hope For Haiti” truck with associate sponsorship from Eco Clear Solutions, MagicJack.com and Bee My Bear.
