There weren't that many bad calls on timing and pitstops.
NASCAR officials say Reed Sorenson will not be fined nor lose points for throwing a piece of roll bar padding out of his car during the O'Reilly 300 Busch Series race last Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway.
Sorenson was sent to the back of the longest line (a loss of five positions) after NASCAR officials saw video of a piece of roll bar padding come out of his driver's side window and then had a request from Sorenson's team for a caution for debris. Sorenson was going to have to serve a pass-through penalty, but an accident a couple of laps later resulted in his going to the back of the field for the restart.
Busch Series Director Joe Balash said after the race that NASCAR officials would discuss the possibility of further penalties this week, but the only penalties from the Busch Series race were a suspension, fine and points penalty for Matt Kenseth crew chief Chad Norris. Norris was suspended for three weeks, and the team and driver were docked 25 points for being too high in post-race inspection.
