FORT WORTH, Texas - Mike Skinner, sitting four points behind series leader Ron Hornaday with three races remaining, will start from the pole in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Silverado 350K on Friday at Texas Motor Speedway.

Skinner put his Bill Davis Racing Toyota on the pole with a lap of 184.137 mph, one of two drivers to break the 184-mph barrier Thursday night on the 1.5-mile oval. Hornaday will start eighth in his Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet.

The pole was Skinner's 10th of the season, tying the series record, which he set in 1995. It was his 42nd career pole, also a series record. MRD Motorsports' Chad McCumbee will start on the outside pole at 184.018 mph.

Germain Racing's Ted Musgrave will start third, with BDR's Johnny Benson starting fourth and Billy Ballew Motorsports' Kyle Busch, coming off a win at Atlanta last week, starting fifth.

Starting sixth through 10th will be Roush Fenway Racing's Travis Kvapil, Circle Bar Racing's Rick Crawford, Hornaday, Wood Brothers/JTG Racing's Jon Wood and Morgan-Dollar Motorsports' Regan Smith.

Germain Racing's Justin Marks qualified in the 28th spot but crashed on his second lap and will go to a backup car.

Andy Belmont Racing's Wayne Edwards failed to make the field.

In a driver change prior to qualifying, Kevin Lepage replaced Dana White in the Team Racing Chevrolet. Lepage qualified 33rd for the event.

The race is scheduled for 8 p.m. EDT Friday.
