CONCORD, N.C. - Kurt Busch's qualifying time was disallowed because the right-rear shock on the No. 2 Penske Racing South Dodge "did not conform to the NASCAR rules," NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter said Thursday night.
Busch had posted the third-fastest speed in qualifying at 189.713 mph but will start 42nd in Saturday night's race.
Additional penalties are "possible," Hunter said.
