DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Veteran Ken Schrader is among the 31 drivers on hand for the second Sprint Cup test session today through Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway.
Schrader, who is eligible to compete in the Budweiser Shootout, confirmed Monday morning that he would run the Speed Weeks events for BAM Racing and also will do the tests at California and Las Vegas later this month.
Schrader drove for BAM from 2003 to 2005. He competed in 13 Cup events last season, 12 with the Wood Brothers and one for BAM.
"We're just going to see what happens," said Schrader, who owns his own race team and often races at short tracks across the country. "The only thing I know for sure is I'm going to race every weekend this year. I don't know where or what."
Among the 31 drivers at the test are several with part-time teams, including EM Motorsports (No. 08, Carl Long), Phoenix Racing (No. 09, Sterling Marlin), No Fear Racing (No. 60, Boris Said), Front Row Motorsports (No. 34, Eric McClure/Derrike Cope), SKI Motorsports (No. 50, Stanton Barrett), and Norm Benning Racing (No. 57, Norm Benning). Furniture Row Racing, whose full-time driver Joe Nemechek tested last week, has brought its No. 87 entry for this test, with Jeff Fuller behind the wheel.
