BRISTOL, Tenn. - Roush Racing is still awaiting word on whether the National Guard will return as primary sponsor on the No. 16 Ford driven by Greg Biffle next year.
"We don't have an indication on what they are going to do for next year," Roush Racing President Geoff Smith said Saturday. "That is being more closely maintained by them. Sometimes it's typically later in the year when they have all of their options decided."
Even if the team loses that sponsorship, there are other sponsors to fill in the gaps. That car has had several sponsors, such as Subway, which have been the primary sponsor for select races in the past couple of years.
"We're covered," Smith said. "It's only a question of how the car is going to be allocated among those sponsors."
