Turner Network Television, a partner with NBC for NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch series racing for the second half of the season, will take over the telecasts from Chicagoland Speedway this weekend.
TNT will air eight Nextel Cup races and 14 Busch Series events over the second half of the year. Fox and FX completed their telecasts of the first half of the season last weekend at Daytona.
This season, along with Sunday's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race in Chicago, TNT will also air Cup races from New Hampshire (July 16 and Sept. 17), Pocono (July 23), Michigan (Aug. 20), Bristol (Aug. 26), Dover (Sept. 24) and Richmond (Sept. 9). TNT's NASCAR Busch Series schedule includes Chicago (July 8), New Hampshire (July 15), St. Louis (July 29), Indianapolis ( Aug. 5), Michigan (Aug. 19), Bristol (Aug. 25), California (Sept. 2), Richmond (Sept. 8), Dover (Sept. 23), Kansas (Sept. 30), Charlotte (Oct. 13), Texas (Nov. 4) and Homestead-Miami (Nov. 18), the final race of the 2006 Busch Series season.
The announcers for all NBC and TNT telecasts will be Bill Weber, Benny Parsons and Wally Dallenbach in the booth with Allen Bestwick, Dave Burns, Matt Yocum and Marty Snider on pit road and in the garage.
