MRN considering moving to Charlotte

Friday, December 15, 2006

Motor Racing Network Inc. is considering moving its offices from Daytona Beach, Fla., to the Charlotte area, and the transition could come as early as next summer, the Charlotte Business Journal reports.

MRN Radio, which employs about 40 people, is owned by International Speedway Corp. and broadcasts all of NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series races as well as the majority of Nextel Cup and Busch series events. The story states that the company could move into the NASCAR Hall of Fame complex in the recently approved office tower, though that facility isn't scheduled to be completed until 2010.

"We've done an analysis, and we're interested," MRN Radio President David Hyatt said of a potential move to the area, declining to comment further to the Business Journal.
