Richard Childress Racing officials announced Wednesday that Holiday Inn has signed a "multiyear" extension to remain the primary sponsor of RCR's No. 29 Busch Series team.

The team also announced it has signed driver Scott Wimmer to an extension. Wimmer and Jeff Burton will share the No. 29 in the Nationwide Series next year, with Wimmer driving 23 races and Burton 12. Wimmer will also run a limited schedule of Sprint Cup events next season.

"It's great to be continuing our relationship with Holiday Inn and, at the same time, keeping Scott and Jeff together behind the wheel," team owner Richard Childress said in a news release. "Holiday Inn has done a tremendous job with its entire program, and we hope we can cap off all their efforts by winning the owners' championship."

The No. 29 team, with Burton driving 17 races and Wimmer 14, leads the Busch owners standings by 116 points over Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 20 team. RCR's No. 29 has four victories - all by Burton - 15 top-five and 23 top-10 finishes.

Holiday Inn officials said the sponsorship would also include its Holiday Inn express brand in 2008.

RCR announced Tuesday that sponsor BB&T would back Clint Bowyer in the team's No. 2 Chevrolet for the full Nationwide schedule next year. The search continues for a sponsor of RCR's No. 21, as AutoZone leaves at the end of the 2007 season.
