Fox says it will kick off its 2006 NASCAR broadcasting schedule with the Auto Club 500 Nextel Cup Series event from California Speedway at 3:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Fox will air 14 Nextel Cup Series events: March 12 at Las Vegas; March 19 at Atlanta; March 26 at Bristol; April 2 at Martinsville; April 9 at Texas; April 22 at Phoenix; April 30 at Talladega; May 13 at Darlington; May 28 at Charlotte; June 11 at Pocono; June 18 at Michigan; June 25 at Infineon Raceway; and July 1 at Daytona.
The network will broadcast four Busch Series events, including the March 5 race at Mexico City.
Fox says broadcasters Darryl Waltrip and Larry McReynolds will return as race analysts for all Nextel Cup and Busch series races on the network. Chris Meyers will again host prerace coverage with analyst Jeff Hammond, and pit reporters Dick Berggren, Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum and Jeanne Zelasko will also return for the 2006 broadcasts.
