JR Motorsports officials announced Tuesday that Tony Eury Sr. would take over as crew chief of the No. 88 Busch Series Chevrolet driven by Brad Keselowski.
The team said it chose not to renew the contract of former crew chief Wes Ward, who has been given the "opportunity to pursue other options."
Eury Sr., who also serves as the team's director of competition, joined the Dale Earnhardt Jr.-owned team in June. He left Dale Earnhardt Inc. after a long tenure there.
Eury Sr. will serve as interim crew chief until a full-time replacement is announced, the team said. Eury Sr. and car chief Ricky Cade will collaborate to set up cars for Keselowski.
Ward took over as crew chief for the No. 88 team last year, replacing Rich Hubbs.
The team has used four drivers this year - Shane Huffman, Earnhardt Jr., Andy Pilgrim and Keselowski - and sits 18th in the Busch Series owner standings with one top-five and seven top-10 finishes.
- Mentioned Drivers:
- Dale Earnhardt Jr.
