Earnhardt Jr. expecting intense schedule

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is happy that his crew chief Tony Eury Jr. has moved with him from Dale Earnhardt Inc. to Hendrick Motorsports.
But he admits that a lot will be thrown at them during their transition to their new team before the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series opens. Eury Jr. has been working with the team for the last two months.
"I feel right now Tony Jr. is very stressed out, has a lot on his mind," Earnhardt Jr. said last Thursday. "In the past couple of months since going to work there, the information has just been crammed into his brain. He could use a vacation. He knows the short time we're on to step up our efforts."
Earnhardt Jr. said he himself might have to step it up, too, if he follows the advice of one of his new Hendrick Motorsports teammates.
"Jeff [Gordon] gave me a little advice at the end of the season that the work ethic might be a little more intense than I was accustomed to as a driver, and the crew chiefs, it's possibly the same," Earnhardt Jr. said. "Tony Jr. talks of 7 o'clock meetings every day."
Is that 7 in the morning?
"Yeah, and probably p.m. too," Earnhardt Jr. said. "He seems really stressed to me. His mentality is positive and focused like he's going after it and attacking it, yet you can tell he's seeing that he's in a new environment. It's just a little more going on, and he's got to be in tune with it."
