INDIANAPOLIS - Paul Menard said Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway that Dale Earnhardt Inc. would likely run a full-time Busch Series team in 2007 for himself, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Martin Truex Jr.
Menard said most of his current No. 15 Busch team would move to Nextel Cup next year, but some team members wanted to stay in the Busch Series. DEI currently fields a full-time Busch team for Menard and a part-time team for Earnhardt Jr. and Truex.
"Some guys want to move up and some guys don't," Menard said. "We're going to run a part-time Busch team for the three of us, Martin, Dale and myself. So we'll probably have a full-time part-time Busch team, you know what I mean? Most of our guys will move up."
Menard said he likely wouldn't run any Busch races on the same weekend the "car of tomorrow" runs in Nextel Cup. The car of tomorrow is first slated to run at Bristol.
Menard still plans on running the full Nextel Cup schedule in DEI's No. 15 Chevrolet.
