General Discussion » Can Tony Jr do for Brad what he couldn't do for Dale?
There weren't that many bad calls on timing and pitstops.
CONCORD, N.C. - Joe Gibbs Racing President J.D. Gibbs said Tuesday afternoon that Brad Coleman will likely compete in several races next season in the team's No. 18 Busch Series Chevrolet.
Coleman, 18, was part of Brewco Motorsports' driver-development program this season, competing in two Busch races and several ARCA for that team. But Coleman announced in October he was weighing his options, hoping to "partner with the right team."
Brewco owner Clarence Brewer said at Homestead-Miami Speedway last week that Coleman could be part of Brewco's plans in 2007, provided sponsorship could be found.
But Brewco is still looking for sponsorship to finish out of the season for its No. 66 Ford, and Coleman was free to look elsewhere.
Coleman would share JGR's No. 18 with Aric Almirola and Tony Stewart in 2007.
"The 18, right now, would be Aric some, Tony maybe a few," Gibbs said. "We had J.J. to run 15, but that sponsor went away at the last minute. We're probably going to fill that in, it looks like, with ... Brad Coleman."
JGR will also field the No. 20 Busch Series Chevrolet for Denny Hamlin, Almirola and Stewart next season.
Mentioned Drivers: Aric Almirola
