KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Kevin Harvick doesn't need to wi races to capture the Busch Series title.

But he keeps making a mockery of the series as he won for the seventh time this year in taking the checkered flag in the Yellow Transportation 300 Saturday afternoon at Kansas Speedway.

Harvick has a 729-point lead on Carl Edwards with five races remaining. He will clinch his second series title if he has a 761-point lead after the next race in two weeks at Lowe's Motor Speedway

"It's an incredible accomplishment," Harvick said. "This 21 car has been good week-in and week-out no matter where we've been. On a day we've been off, we've been able to make a really good day out of it.

"It's just one of those years where everything has gone our way. The cars have been fast, and we have been able to capitalize on our fast cars in a lot of situations and wind up in victory lane."

Harvick passed Kyle Busch for the lead on lap 185 and then survived a couple of restarts with Matt Kenseth on his bumper to seal the win.

Kenseth led 145 laps in the race but lost the lead on the final round of pit stops on lap 166. Busch took two tires and Harvick beat him out of the pits.

Following Harvick and Kenseth across the finish line were Busch, Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer. The top non-Nextel Cup regular was Paul Menard in 10th.

Mentioned Drivers: Carl Edwards
