Jerry Pitts has been named crew chief for Jon Wood's Wood Brothers/JTG Racing Busch Series team, the team announced today.
"We chose Jerry to fill this position because we feel his knowledge and history will fit Jon's program and future well," team Competition Director Michael McSwain said. "He has extensive background in several racing series from his time as a driver on California short tracks to his Cup experience as a crew chief with Bill Elliott's operation and with Robert Yates Racing."
Pitts has most recently been with RYR's No. 90 Busch Series team and driver Stephen Leicht.
"I like the system and plan [McSwain] has in place," Pitts said. "I think there is a good future here. Right now I'm really looking forward to going to Richmond and working with Jon."
Crew chief David Hyder left the team to rejoin BAM Racing's Cup operation.
