Aquesta Bank officials say Nextel Cup driver Greg Biffle has joined the board of the proposed financial institution in Cornelius, N.C.
Biffle was introduced to officials of the proposed Aquesta Bank by his business manager, who is an investor in the project, according to The Charlotte Business Journal, and both sides hit it off.
The 36-year-old Roush Racing driver, who lives in Mooresville, N.C., has already earned high marks from Jim Engel, the bank's chief executive officer. "His business ventures have all been well thought out," Engel told the Business Journal. "He's not just driving a car - he's thinking about his future."
"I have always been focused on top notch performance and results and have been fortunate to be associated with a number of winning teams," Biffle says in a company news release. "Joining Aquesta Bank as a director is another opportunity to be part of a winning team dedicated to long term success. Just like in racing, success in business is driven by the right people, and Aquesta has assembled a strong team for delivering strong market presence and customer service."
