Billy Ballew Motorsports officials announced Monday that Nate Monteith would drive the team's No. 15 Chevrolet in Wednesday's O'Reilly 200 Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The team said regular driver Bill Lester would step out of the truck because of a "temporary lack of sponsorship." Monteith, of Bristol, Tenn., is bringing a sponsor to the team, which will be announced at a later date.
"We still support Bill and his efforts on the track, and we are working diligently with him to locate a sponsor so that we can continue through the 2007 season and beyond," Ballew said in a news release.
Lester is 16th in the truck series point standings, with one top-five finish in 16 starts.
Monteith will be making his series debut at Bristol, though he has two Busch Series starts in his career.
"We are excited to have Nate Monteith onboard in the No. 15 for Bristol," Ballew said. "He is a strong driver with a lot of undiscovered talent."
