Elliott Sadler to think pink at Lowe's Motor Speedway
Elliott Sadler will have his No. 19 Gillett Evernham Motorsports Dodge decked out in a pink paint scheme to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization in Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
“Last year my mother, Bell, was diagnosed with breast cancer, so this is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart,” said Sadler, who races each week with a pink ribbon decal above the driver’s side door.
“We are fortunate that she was able to fight and is now on the road to recovery, but I’m excited to get involved with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help support breast cancer awareness and raise money for research to find a cure.”
Sadler is looking to improve on his eighth-place finish in this year's Coca-Cola 600 at LMS on May 25.
"We are bringing a car that should definitely give us a chance to win," Sadler said.
In 20 career starts at LMS, Sadler has one top-five and three top-10 finishes. His best career finish at LMS was fifth in the Coca-Cola 600 in 2004 when he was driving for Yates Racing.
