Yates Racing's Travis Kvapil gets primary sponsor for California race

Yates Racing announced Tuesday that Farmers Insurance will sponsor driver Travis Kvapil’s entry in this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway in California.

The team, which doesn’t have a full-time primary sponsor, is getting sponsorship on a race-by-race basis for now and may not run the full season.

“It’s another great opportunity for the No. 28 team and Yates Racing to have Farmers Insurance on board for next weekend’s race at Fontana,” Kvapil said. “Yates and Ford Racing have a great intermediate track program, which gives us a lot to look forward to next weekend at Fontana.”

Kvapil finished 42nd in last Sunday’s Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, with one-race sponsorship from Golden Corral.

Financial terms of the sponsorship were not announced.

SOOOOOOOO glad to read that Travis has a sponsor for this weekend. He is one of the nicest drivers in Nascar. I have said this before and i'll say it again. He reminds me alot of Matt, low key, soft spoken, just a nice guy. Maybe with some luck he will be able to run a full season. Good Luck Travis.

Yes, Pat, he does seem like a real nice guy and is certainly a very good racer. He wouldn't be with Roush/Yates if he wasn't. Hope he can make the full season and maybe even vie for the chase.
