There weren't that many bad calls on timing and pitstops.
Gillett Evernham Motorsports officials announced today that Terry Labonte will drive the organization's No. 10 Dodge in the Aug. 3 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway.
Patrick Carpentier, the regular driver of the car, is spending that weekend competing in the Nationwide Series race at Montreal and is not traveling between the two tracks.
The two-time Cup champion Labonte, 51, has recently been filling in driving the No. 45 Petty Enterprises Dodge.
“I think anyone who follows our sport knows the caliber of driver and person Terry Labonte is,” said Tom Reddin, Gillett Evernham Motorsports CEO. “We appreciate Terry’s willingness to step in and help us out for a weekend.”
Labonte has 857 career starts and finished 30th at Pocono earlier this season, driving the Petty car.
