Texas Motor Speedway officials announced a special package that awards race fans who buy tickets to the track’s Dickies 500 Sprint Cup race a “Dale & The Duke” collectible die-cast.

The first 333 fans, starting Saturday morning, who buy four “prime frontstretch” tickets to the Nov. 2 race will receive a free die-cast
featuring Dale Earnhardt and John Wayne.

In addition to the sales surrounding the Texas race, Motorsports Authentics, through its Action Racing Collectables die-cast brand, is offering a collectible version of the die-cast at authorized dealers nationwide. Chase Authentics will produce apparel items such as hats, T-shirts and jackets.

Fans can visit the TMS ticket office or order by calling (817) 215-8500.

Taylor Earnhardt, Dale’s daughter, and Marisa Wayne Ditteaux, John Wayne’s daughter, unveiled the Motorsports Authentics die-cast earlier this week at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

“My dad was a huge fan of John Wayne and I  know he would be proud to be sharing his race car with The Duke,” Taylor said. “Both of  them were true American cowboys, relentless in overcoming the challenges in which they faced with a style and swagger that made us all want more.  This is a real honor as we celebrate the legacies of these two great American heroes and continue their legends.”

What next???? I guess money means more that respect. Comparing earnhart with John Wayne is like saying Robin is as good as Batman or Beavis is as good as Charlton Heston. Give the world a break and let The "Duke" rest in peace.
