Teresa Earnhardt has been named No. 60 of the Most Beautiful People in NASCAR by the Sporting News.

In 60 years of NASCAR racing, the sport has been filled with colorful characters. This year, Sporting News decided to craft a list of the sport's 60 Most Beautiful People.

The selections were made as a result of nominations sent in by readers and NASCAR fans to the Sporting News' publications and Web sites.

The list was finalized and published in a special edition, which is now available on newsstands and at the online store at streetandsmiths.com. SceneDaily is running the list, with one person from the top 60 to be featured each day.

Today's installment features No. 60, Teresa Earnhardt.

Following the death of her husband, Dale, Teresa Earnhardt assumed the leadership of Dale Earnhardt Inc., the NASCAR enterprise the couple was building in anticipation of the day he stopped driving.

With the move, Teresa became one of the most powerful women in racing.

Controversy sparked in 2007 when Teresa and her stepson, Dale Jr., couldn't agree to terms of a new contract, which led to NASCAR's most popular driver leaving DEI for Hendrick Motorsports. However, DEI has succeeded despite Junior's departure, fielding four full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams, including cars for drivers Martin Truex Jr. and Mark Martin. The team has since announced a merger with Chip Ganassi Racing, to take effect in 2009.

Earnhardt, who was born in Hickory, N.C., was married to Dale Sr. for 17 years before his death. She is also the stepmother of Kerry Earnhardt (a former NASCAR Nationwide Series driver who now works as a consultant for DEI) and JR Motorsports president Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, who's No. 56 on this list.

Teresa is surely not a beautiful person, nor a good stepmother.

To say that DEI has succeeded is not entirely true. Did any of their 4 drivers make the Chase - NO. Do they have sponsorship for all their teams next year - NO. Could they survive without the merger with Ganassi, PROBABLY NO. At least Kelly is higher on the list than stepmom. the article never even mentioned Taylor.

The best to you and DEI IN 2009 Teresa!! You are a beautiful person and if people that THINK they know eveything would lay off maybe we would see more of you at the track. You and Dale Sr. are missed at the spring Dover Race we go to.The best to you in the future and your family. Happy Holidays to everyone at DEI.

Teresa is not a beautiful person. It takes more than outer beauty to be beautiful. It takes inner beauty as well she is a horrible person and should be ashamed of herself for what she has done to Kelly and Jr. As far as Taylor goes she is a spoiled brat as is her mother as for Kerry he kisses her rear that is why he is still at DEI. DEI will go under it is only a matter of time. As far as her apperances at events it has nothing to do with the fans and media. She is ashamed of what she has done no way is this women beautiful.

Teresa Earnhardt a beautiful person, are you kidding me? How can people actually say that with a straight face! She has "driven" the Earnhardt legacy into the ground. If Sr. were still alive, DEI would not be in the situation that it is. I hate to see such a thing happen to the Earnhardt name, she should have worked with Jr. instead of against him. As one other person stated, at least Kelly is higher on the list.

I'm sorry? Who is Dale Earnhardt, JR? I might have read something about his dad, but didn't he die years ago? I watched a few races this year and his name popped up a few times, but that's about it. Can't remember if he was a driver or one of the Nascar officials!

I am with you #15 - Anonymous #16 must be desperate to think that Teresa has any beauty at all - inside or out! She let DEI go down the tubes - if she had no interest in running the company or racing after Sr. dies (whjich I would completely understand) then she should have left Dale Jr. and Kelley run the company. Kelley has a great sense of business and I am sure she and Jr. would have carried on the company as THEIR father had intended.

Ok people! There is some of you that are going way over board with this thing. It isn't that she is "beautiful" in looks, read it #1 with the death of her husband #2 one of the most powerful women in racing. That means money and if anything Dale Sr. left her with a lot of that and as long as people buy anything with his name or picture on it she will be one of the most powerful women in NASCAR,till the day comes when there is no DEI in racing. Remember what Jr. just said about the "merger" . If his father was here it would be different but he's not.DEI needs a real racer like Chip Ganassi. And he wants DEI to succeed. Not "HER" his fathers Company. Remember that. I would hope Jr's fans could be as big a person as he is.

Anyone who could look at Theresa and say she is not beautiful need thier heads examined. And I am tired of all the people saying she is running DEI into the ground, just because she couldn't see eye to eye with Theresa. And anyone who would say she is not a good mother, should talk to the horses mouth and ask him. Back in the day, when Sr. wanted to whip some sense into the dropout Jr. and ship him off to military school, it was Theresa who stood up for him, and backed him up. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. Just because she doesn't look like a supermodel doesn't mean that she isn't beautiful. Dale Sr. married her, and they were stuck together like glue. Always together, so give her a break guys, I think she should be higher on the list. Oh yeah, I am a card carrying member of Jr. Nation too... ;)

Dale Sr. told many people his plans for DEI to go to his son/kids. He specifically said, "Got to leave something for the kids, you know?" Theresa went against the wishes of her late husband, and she knows it. Dale Jr. should have had majority ownership in that business, and because she refused to work with him, DEI is going under and fast. Calling DEI "successful" is a HOOT! I mean seriously-they have one full-time sponsor and had to merge with another team to stay afloat, giving the Rookie of the Year the shaft in the process. I see little "beauty" in Theresa and her handling of DEI.

If only she were half as smart as she is beautiful.... Yes she is a very pretty woman, but her ugly side, pride and greed, stood in the way of success for DEI. Hopefully this move will work out for the best for all involved.

I don't feel Theresa is a beautiful person. She was very fortunate to have been married to one of the most successful men in motorsports, "Dale Earhnardt". I think the fact that DEI is merging with Ganassi shows that Theresa does not have the ability to manage the empire left to her. What success has DEI or Ganassi had in 2008? I am sorry she has rode on her late husbands success and is now in trouble. Maybe heeping Dale Jr at DEI would not have been a bad decision. Dale Sr. or Dale Jr. either way the last name and legacy will be Earnhardt, just not Theresa. A Dale fan for ever. Alice Snider-St.Petersburg, Florida

I find it ironic that teresa is now showing up on this, when she couldn't show up 95% of the time for Jr. when he was racing for her.....She was pegged as a "No Show Owener" by Kevin Harvic... The only time she appeared at the track is when Jr. won, to colllect the money and have her pic taken with him and the trophy. She even stated in a recent article that she does not want to be in the racing lime light. And NOW, she is one of the "MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN NASCAR"??? BARF Next to the word "Golddigger" in the dictionary should be her picture.

I don't know any of the Earnhardt's, but Sr was married to Teresa for all those years for a reason. There has to be some beauty in her, because her daughter seems to have grown up to be a nice young woman. Although I do agree, that Sr was the true genius in the business partnership, while Teresa took care of financial- D.E.I. was what it was because Sr was so darn intelligent. Kelley Earnhardt Elledge has that same talent in business matters... it would be awesome to see the Earnhardt kids running D.E.I. at some point, being that that is what Sr would have wanted. There really is no need to bash each other... it doesn't effect anyone other than those who own/manage/are employed by/affiliated with the Garage Mahal. Happy Thanksgiving!

As much as I hate to say this, but DEI, INC. died the day Dale Sr. died. Her being in charge and her and for her and Sr. kids not working it out because of not seeing eye to eye was just another death blow to DEI, inc. She doesn't deserve to be on this list.

I do not believe she deserves to be on this list. I mean seriously what has she done for Dei since Dale died. Jr's was smart to leave all he wanted was 51% percent of the company. I mean come on techinqually she wouldn't have the company if it wasn't for Sr racing all those years and winning what he did. He had created DEI to be a part of the Earnhardt Legacy. Not for it to be dead and buried along with him. I mean look the Petty's don't exist anymore yea we still have the #43 but no more Petty on the track. She would be the one out on her rear if she did this if Dale was still around. I am wishing Kelly and Dale Jr luck and success with JR Motorsports. Candy Chesar
