Who are NASCAR’s most beautiful people?
The Sporting News asked that question of readers, fans and those who cover the sport, and the results weren’t limited by traditional definitions of beauty. The editors considered fan favorites and sponsor favorites and gave them points, and they also awarded points to “those were were making waves in the sport.”
The results of this non-traditional approach are now out with the publication of NASCAR’s 50 Most Beautiful People. The special edition is now available on newsstands and at the online store at www.streetandsmiths.com.
SceneDaily is running the list, with one person from the top 50 to be featured each day. Only the top selection was ranked, with the rest following in a random order that allows fans to decide who should be ranked where.
Today's installment features Reed Sorenson, 2009 driver of the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Dodge in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Born: Feb. 5, 1986
Birthplace: Peachtree City, Ga.
Current residence: Mooresville, N.C.
In his words:
At home … I like to play with my dogs and hang out with friends.
My racing heroes are … Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Richard Petty.
My nickname is … Speedy Reedy.
On the road … I always have my computer.
You would be surprised to learn … that I’m quiet most of the time, but easily lose my temper.
Did you know? Reed Sorenson has flown in an Air Force jet. When the Air Force sponsored Sorenson’s No. 43 ride early this year, it wanted Sorenson to understand a little about the Air Force and what it takes to be an airman.
“Taking a ride in an Air Force jet is unlike any training I’ve done for NASCAR,” Sorenson says. “I have great respect for the Air Force and I’m honored to represent them in the No. 43 car.”
